I was reading an article in the morning by Bimal Balasingham, director of TATA AIG Insurance on time management in one of the leading dailies. Many aspects mentioned by Mr.Balasingham were quite obvious ones; nonetheless it was a good read as it brought these obvious things to conscious-level. The point mentioned on perfectionism was pretty neat. ‘Perfectionist’ folks have goals at each task that are virtually unattainable in a timely fashion, this obsession with perfection can many times lead to procrastination thus undelivered goods by end of the day.

I have this firm belief that organizations are just an extension of its founder/s. The success of an organization is essentially dependent on the founders’ clarity on purpose of existence, value system, business objectives, direction, short-term ‘n long-term goals and the organizations role in the society.

Since the last few years, any management book or an article one can keep his hands on invariably talked about “Customer needs Based Strategies or Organizations” – The recent Management Holy-grail.
Though I was taken-up by the term in the beginning, of late I am experiencing the overdose syndrome of this phrase. I recently finished a book authored by one of the renowned CEOs in the world, who turned around a multi-billion dollar business from sinking; he again has used “Customer Need based Everything” in his book.
