Do not wonder if you happen to receive “Googling” as a word of the day in your mailbox in the days ahead. Yes! Oxford English and Merriam-Webster Collegiate dictionaries have transformed Google to a verb in the recent past.
Though it appears to be real good word-of-mouth vehicle for Google Inc.,, It is important not to ignore a couple of serious consequences that are bundled with it.
It is legally possible for anyone to use Google/Googling as verbs. The Trademark that was registered earlier is now a verb and no one can …

Most of the authors of management books (even non-management, fiction, etc), think their book will be bought and read only in the Americas or by Americans living outside the United States. So many references and notes that assumes the reader is sitting somewhere in North America or a visiting American to some other geography.
I still wonder why these well read men are’t waking up to the fact that their books aren’t confined to the American geography only. Despite of titling the book as ‘The World is Flat’, Tom Friedman has, …

For my own part
I have never had a thought
Which I could not set down in words
With even more distinctness
Than that which I conceived it
There is however, a class of fancies
Of Exquisite delicacy
Which are not thoughts
And to which is yet, I have found it
Absolutely impossible to adapt to language
These fancies arise in us all
Alas how rarely
Only an epics of most intense tranquility
When the body and mental health are in perfection
And at those mired points of time
Where the confines of the waking world
Blend with the world of dreams
And so I captured this …

Let us assume, I have a mechanical device that is used to toss a coin. The thrust and the tossing speed are mechanically fixed.

I have been quite awed by a few things that I have been witnessing in Indian Economy since last 15 odd years on various initiatives. As all of us are aware, Opening up of Indian economy in 1991 is the prologue to the story.
All of us agree, we Indians are privileged to be part of the revolution and will be in a position to say real-life stories to our grandchildren on how things have been and changed in the last 15 odd years. However, there are some twists to the beautiful …

A while ago Monark, a colleague of mine walked in, pooled in a few guys and waved this story.
Situation: An individual is arrested for no rhyme or reason in a remote location and said he is going to be executed for venturing into a private territory.
The exterminator said the victim that he can make a statement; if it happens to be true, he will be hung if not will be cut into pieces. Importantly, the same statement will be treated as his last wish as well.
A few minutes were given …

A few of my friends have asked me if Pocket PCs have a loudspeaker? Yes, it does! At least HTC based devices do.
It is sad that O2/Krome/IMATE’s (all procuring most of the hardware from HTC) documentation does not provide any clue on activating speaker phone. It’s pretty simple, when the call is on Keep pressing the CALL (Green) button for a few seconds. Voila! The loudspeaker is on.
Sometimes, the phone will go on hold before activating the loudspeaker, don’t worry.. It will turn on.

Weird! Why is google not returning results for “Amazon.Com”
There’s probably a very good reason for this, but I don’t know what it is. As a Searchblog reader KK discovered, the query “amazon.com” returns no results in the current Google service. It returns tons of results in Ask, Yahoo, and AOL, which uses Google to power search. Odd.
Is this an anticompetiive thing? I can’t imagine. But a Google search for Yahoo.com does bring up one result – “yahoo.com.” Amazon.com does not.
Update: A Google spokesperson responds: “This is a technical problem that …

Ladies and Gentlemen of the class of ’97
Wear sunscreen
If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be it. The long term benefits of sunscreen have been proved by scientists whereas the rest of my advice has no basis more reliable than my own meandering experience…I will dispense this advice now.
Enjoy the power and beauty of your youth; oh nevermind; you will not understand the power and beauty of your youth until they have faded. But trust me, in 20 years you’ll look back at photos …
